Friday 12th May 2017 – Confirmation that the film ‘Made in Dagenham’ will have a private showing for Ruskin House Club tonight at 8pm in the Lounge. It will start promptly at 8pm and will run for 1hr 48 minutes approx. There is no entry fee but there may be a raffle. ‘It is an inspiring story of the women who made history’…’they prove that nothing is impossible if you stand up for what you believe’ – The revolution for equal pay for women. Cast; Sally Hawkins, Bob Hoskins, Miranda Richardson, Jaime Winstone. The club bar opens at 7pm.



Saturday 13th May 2017 – The Annual May Day March & Rally will take place on Saturday 13th May 2017, assembling at North End Croydon, 12 Noon and Marching off at 12.30 via North End, High Street, South End, Coombe Road and to a rally at Ruskin House. A modest buffet will be available at Ruskin House at 1pm followed by a Rally at 2pm in the Cedar Hall or in the Garden if weather is favourable. Banners are most welcome and you are invited to support on the day.



Sunday 14th May 2017 – The Folk & Blues Club are holding a 50th year celebration with a special tribute by Dave Marshall featuring Trade Union and Labour songs. All are welcome for this event.


  1. A diary date for this year’s music festival on Saturday the 8th July 2017, 12 Noon to 10pm – the next festival organising meeting is on Tuesday the 16th May 2017, 8-9.30pm at Ruskin House. If you can provide any help contact Roy initially, on07941 890756.



Coach to the 2017 Tolpuddle Festival on Sunday the 16th July – coach leaves Ruskin House at 8am and returns by 9.45pm – seat reservation cost £7 – forms available from Ruskin House or use the attached document.
